Whirlpool bathtubs are an all-in-one solution. They have the advantages of a whirlpool, but they can also be used for normal baths whenever you like.

Jetted bathtubs have several built-in massage jets along the backrest, on the floor and/or on the sides of the tub. These lie flush with the inner surface of the bathtub. This means they won't get in the way of a comfortable bath in your Duravit whirlpool tub in the slightest. The whirlpool system and the related massage functions are intuitive and easy to control via the control panel. In addition, the large lying area provides plenty of space - some models can easily accommodate two people.

With the push of a button, a pump draws the water from the jetted bathtub into the inlet nozzles, infuses it with air and pumps it back out again through the whirlpool nozzles. The intensity of the water pressure depends on the amount of air infused into the water. This can be adjusted to make the massage jets softer or harder as desired. With the air spa system, on the other hand, air is drawn in and blown into the tub via the floor jets, which creates relaxing bubbles of air.

With modern whirlpool bathtubs , individual groups of massage jets can also be controlled separately, allowing you to select a massage for your entire body or just for your back and neck, for example. This deeply relaxing massage increases your sense of well-being and will provide many enjoyable wellness moments.

There are various ingenious whirlpool systems for whirlpool bathtubs. In terms of the whirlpool system, a basic distinction is made between air jets and water jets.

The combination of both whirlpool systems promises pure relaxation and the greatest possible comfort, since it combines the positive effects of the two. Duravit has three different combination systems for whirlpool bathtubs:

If you decide on a whirlpool bathtub, you can choose from among many different timeless shapes and sizes and various other equipment options. Since our whirlpool bathtubs have all of the functions of a regular bathtub, the water is drained after each bath. A hot tub, on the other hand, is always filled with water so it can be used at any time. This is possible thanks to a filter system that keeps the water clean over a longer period of time. Chlorine is usually added to the water as well. It is advisable to change the water two to three times a year, depending on care, water quality and frequency of use.

Compared to bathtubs with a whirlpool function, hot tubs require more maintenance because the water quality has to be checked manually several times a week with a test strip. It is advisable to disinfect the water with chemicals and to clean it regularly so that the pH value can be corrected, for example, and algae formation can be prevented. The nozzles and lines should be thoroughly cleaned of any deposits and calcification in the process. Maintaining a whirlpool bathtub, on the other hand, requires only slightly more effort than maintaining a conventional bathtub.

Without an additional integrated heater, the water in a whirlpool bathtub stays warm for only a limited period of time. An optionally available heater can be used to compensate for heat loss while bathing in your jetted tub and keep the water at a constant 100°F (38°C).

A significant difference between a whirlpool tub and a hot tub is that the latter can be installed both indoors and out. They usually require a lot more space since they are designed to accommodate several people. The nice thing about whirlpool tubs, on the other hand, is that they can fit right into many small bathrooms. In addition, whirlpool bathtubs are multifunctional. Besides the option of using them for a classic full bath, you can also use them as a shower.

Typically, a hot tub will be more expensive than a whirlpool tub. The higher energy consumption contributes to the cost, since the water in a hot tub is constantly circulated, heated and filtered. There are ongoing operating costs (and noise) as a result. In addition, the practical two-in-one use of whirlpool tubs should also be mentioned here.

Whirlpool bathtubs aren't just relaxing. The pleasant water pressure relaxes the muscles, stimulates muscle regeneration and can even relieve joint pain. In order to enjoy your whirlpool bathtub for a long time, regular maintenance is advisable. But what are some considerations when it comes to cleaning a whirlpool bathtub?

The surface of the bathtub should be cleaned regularly (after 10 to 15 uses) - or immediately if the surface gets dirty - with a vinegar or citric acid based cleaner or a cleaner specifically designed for whirlpool bathtubs. It is important to use a lint-free cloth when cleaning the whirlpool bathtub because small pieces of lint can clog the whirlpool system. In order to avoid scratches or damage to the surface of the tub, the cloth should ideally be made of cotton and not microfiber. Spray cleaners should be applied to the cloth first and not directly to the surface of the tub. Using a silicone-free cleaning agent is advisable for cleaning the matte surfaces of sanitary acrylic bathtubs. The proper cleaning and care of your whirlpool bathtub is primarily determined by the material of the tub. DuraSolid® whirlpool tubs need to be cared for differently than acrylic whirlpool tubs. Always follow the care instructions for the whirlpool tub in question when choosing the cleaning agent.

The nozzles, water lines and pump system of the whirlpool bathtub can theoretically become calcified and should therefore be cleaned regularly. Any residues, such as foaming additives, should be removed from the whirlpool system before you use it for the first time and after every tenth bath - or at least once a month and after longer periods of disuse - in order to keep them functioning properly. About two cups of a household chlorine cleaner added to 25 gallons of cold water can be used for this purpose. Circulate this mixture through the water lines at maximum intensity for two hours with the whirlpool function switched on for all nozzles. After this, drain the cleaning solution and rinse the tub with pure water for 30 seconds with all of the nozzles switched on. Then the water is drained again and the blow-out process started.
